10mm spacer needs custom work to fit??

so i was looking for 10mm spacers and came upon Turners site.

"A note about 10mm spacers: Any 10mm spacer is considered a custom fitment. The stock hubcentric lip on BMWs can stick out by as much as 11mm. This leaves a gap between the spacer and the hub which seriously compromises safety. We recommend using a larger spacer (12mm and larger do not have this issue) or check that the lip sticks out less than 10mm."

and they said if you do go with a 10mm, to file down the lip on your car so it sits flush... anyone use a 10mm? any input please? THANKS!

Mine sit flush on the hub but not on the Wheels Face. I have to run a 1-3mm spacer for the DPE to be FLUSH.

I think it's due to my wheels not spacer. Should work fine tho.
