I was told by a friend that dropping my car on sport package shocks my cause problems in 6 months. He told me specifically that his 99 m3 could be dropped on springs alone, you need shocks and springs. So if you have heard different or heard the same story, I want to hear it. Thank you.
I have H&R race springs with my OEM sport package shocks and it's been fine for over a year now. A lot of people on this forum are running the same setup. You'll be ok.
I'm in the same boat as joe330ci, i've had my H&R springs installed on stock shocks for the past year and no problems. I'll probably buy bilstein adjustables when my stock shocks blow. If you can afford it in the beginning, get both springs/shocks and save on installation charges in the long run.
people have been doing it for thousands of miles without problem... you'll be fine
