Some folks asked about my cell phone holder (pict below). You can buy them online from ProFit International at http://pro-fit-intl.com/ for about $40. Very easy to install and fits a wide variety of phones. Takes about 5 minutes to install the holder and looks very integrated.

I've been researching cell phone options for E46s extensively. BMW offers two categories of in car phone setups. 1) A BMW phone that ties in with the steering controls and Nav system and 2) non BMW car phone kits that don't tie in with the steering controls. Here are the BMW part numbers for those interested (not including the phone!!). I'm sure there are more but this is what I've got so far!

For people with the prewired "cell phone" ready cars (option code SA640 on your invoice):
BMW Phone Motorola V.50 84 63 0 017 XXX
XXX = 970 Sedan & Coupe
972 Touring
971 Cabrio
969 Compact
Non BMW Phones:

Siemens C25 84 64 0 022 960
Siemens S25 84 64 0 022 962

For people without the prewired "cell phone" ready cars:
BMW Phone Motorola V.50 84 63 0 017 XXX

Ericsson T28s 84 64 0 023 083 (all but Cabrio)

so what are those part numbers for exactly? is that the part number for the Pro-Fit holder?
No, my apologies. Those are BMW part numbers for the OEM installation kits for those phones...wiring (when applicable), console station, line driver, etc. BMW salesmen are mum on many of these and want to sell you the $1500 BMW phone pacakge. These run from $400-$600 dollars and are DIY items...and you get the BMW "car phone" experience, not a just a simple holder. :smile:
