yeah, I had the same issue with them - relatively weak midbass response, and I could run them unfiltered at high volumes without breakup - it was almost like they were internally highpassed at 200 or something....
have you tried flipping the passenger side midbass out of phase? While it may hurt midbass performance a bit, it should center things up for you a bit....give it a try.
That's exactly how I have it, the pass side woofer out of phase, and the driver side tweet. You made me feel better about my decision. :bow:
I think DA was taking the midbass cabin gain into account but you are right, the mids aren't good for strong midbass. But, that's sort of a trade-off for a shallow depth speaker.
