Hi I have a 2004 bmw 330Ci i have been searching for a while and i was wondering if spoilers from e46 coupes would fit on my convertible. I have not been able to find answers anywhere. If anyone can help please let me know. Thanks.
Ameba wings on ebay is a great route to go for this. Thats where I got mine a few years ago. I think it costs about $60 shipped and color coded. I have green--gray metallic and paint was a perfect match.
I got my spoiler today I am going to bring it to a body shop to make sure it gets put on correctly. I will post pictures once it is on. Thanks for all the help guys
I did my own install with this lip spoiler. It takes 5mins and looks great. Just let the spoiler soften in the sun or use a hair dryer or something so its pliable. Then follow the instructions and slowly apply it to your trunk.
Yep. No need for a body shop on this mod. Let it get warm in the sun, peel the tape, and start in the middle. I had my teenage son help, and it went great.
All I had to tell the ebay guy was that mine was Alpine White. Not a perfect match, but only another Fanatic would ever notice. I think it has more to do with the fact that I'm putting it on a car that's had 9 years of paint wear.
Couple that with the fact that I had the body shop paint that black strip on the lower rear bumper, and it's a nice look now. Adds a little flair to my base 325.
glam - can you post a new pic with the painted strip? I've got my car going into the body shop next week to repair damage from a jag who hit me (and drove off) last month.
Maybe I'll have the shop do that at the same time while they're doing the repair...
Here's a question. Has anyone ever tried to take one of these off? The ones I've seen have 3M double sided tape to attach them, which is usually good stuff. Did you pull paint? Leave behind a sticky mess? Goo Gone fix it? I'm asking because I may pick one up, as they're cheap, but may not end up liking it.
Posted on one condition...nobody complain about how dirty my ride is. Remember I got hit on the other side over the weekend, and it's been raining all week in Atlanta, so no reason to wash it up. This will give you an idea of how the painted strip looks though. I was very pleased with how it cleaned up the rear end.
Just installed the ebay trunk spoiler on my 2004 Steel Blue. The color match was perfect and the install too simple. What a great addition fo rthe price.
Deacon, I have a 2004 Steel Blue Vert too. Which Ebay seller did you buy from? I was going to buy from Bimmian but it's $175.00 painted to match through them
Thanks Deacon, it's always nice to see pics and feedback from members. Sometimes Ebay stuff turns out really nice and sometimes not so much. I'm planning on ordering this. It sounds like you and others here are pretty happy with your experience.
looks really good. I really need to get off my a$$ and order this thing
