Recently I have been getting people asking me if I can do window trim as well, and the answer to that is yes! Not all of the cars I do are E46s, but hopefully it'll give you a general idea of how blacked out trims looks like on various and different colored cars. All of these cars are cars that I worked on personally, but if you aren't a local and just need materials, I can supply the necessary materials needed as well.
Just recently started taking pictures of the cars that I've done window trim on, and here's one of the first of them. I must say, it was a very very nice car.

If you guys are looking for any vinyl materials to cover your roof, window trim, etc, shoot me a PM with what you need or post up any questions you might have.
I also sell DIY materials for those who are not local and want to try and do it themselves. I've done this for hundreds of members on the forums in the past.
Let me know if you'd be interested or if you had any other questions.
I always take requests, if anyone is trying to look for a specific example of my vinyl work on a certain type of color or car. In this case, I had someone ask me if I could post pictures of blacked out window trim on a red colored car. The owner of this red Audi S5 had me black out his chrome/brushed aluminum window trim with my matte black vinyl material. I believe the owner of this car was from Los Angeles and drove out to me in Anaheim Hills/Orange County to have the work done. I think the matte black provides a nice contrast with the bright color of the car, but I think gloss black would have looked just equally as good in this case.

Note: The bump that can be seen on the top rear quarter window trim piece is a factory bump/seam and not due to any installation reasons/issues.
The owner of this new jet black Lexus IS250 sedan had me vinyl wrap the chrome/brushed aluminum window trim. The blacked out trim makes a huge difference on dark colored cars, as you can see in the pictures below. For this car, we went with the gloss black vinyl finish for the material, to have the window trim of the car blend in with the black paint on the car. The owner of this car drove out to me in Anaheim Hills/Orange County to have the work done.
Just to clarify for those who are interested, the tail light tinting group buy is going to only be available for locals. If you***8217;re interested in this, the group buy list is still active, e-mail me directly at donathon@gmail.com to be added.
The owner of this white Porsche Cayenne S SUV came by to have me black out his brushed aluminum window trim, vertical side pillars, lower door inserts, and rear bumper bar all in my gloss black vinyl material. We went with gloss black for this car to have it match the darker window tint on the car. I believe the owner of this car was from Los Angeles county and came out to me in Orange county to have the vinyl work done.

I blacked out the chrome/brushed aluminum window trim on this black Lexus IS sedan. This car had window visors installed on the windows, but I was able to work around them without any issues. The owner of this car had me go with gloss black for the chrome window trim, so that it'd blend in with the car more. They drove out to me in Anaheim Hills/Orange County to have the work done. There wasn't much chrome on the car to begin with, so blacking out the chrome window trim changed the look of the car quite a bit.
The owner of this black Mercedes Benz CLS had me black out the chrome/brushed aluminum window trim on his car with my matte black vinyl material. The owner was actually undecided between gloss or matte black, so he let me chose what finish to go with. I went with the matte black to give it some contrast and also to match the already matte black wheels.
It may seem like a small subtle change to the car, but the before/after pictures shows how big of a difference it really is getting rid of the chrome/brushed aluminum that***8217;s around the windows. It cleans up the looks and lines of the car, and at the same time gives it a more aggressive look.
The owner of this black c class coupe brought his car in to have me vinyl wrap the chrome/brushed aluminum window trim and the rear trunk bar in my matte black vinyl material. We went with matte black over gloss black to give it some contrast on an already gloss black car. In addition, it also gives the car a bit more of an aggressive look, which worked out on this car. I believe the same owner came back to have me tint/smoke the tails on his car lightly, which really tied in everything together. I***8217;ll see if I can find those pictures somewhere.
The owner of this car had me vinyl wrap the chrome/brushed aluminum trim on his A6/S6. I had previously done his S4 as well. We went with the matte black for the trim, which I think goes well with the more modified look of the car. The matte also blended well with the rubber/weather trim that runs around along the window trims as well. It worked out that the owner of this car was able to come back another day for me to take pictures of it in the sun light, so now you guys have an idea of how the wrapped trim looks like in dim vs bright lighting.
The blacked out trim looks good on all colors of cars, in my opinion, and it really cleans up the sides of the car fairly well. Gives the car a more sporty look without looking too modified. It looks as if it came from the factory like this.
For this black Lexus GS350 sedan, I vinyl wrapped the chrome/brushed aluminum trim around his windows, rear chrome trunk bar and front chrome grill surround in my gloss black vinyl material. We went with gloss black over matte black to have the trim pieces blend in with the rest of the black paint better. The owner of this car was from Orange County as well and drove out to me in Anaheim Hills to get the work. Getting rid of all of the chrome really cleans up the lines of the car quite a bit.
I did quite a bit of work on this white Mercedes Benz C class C250 coupe. The owner of the car had me black out the chrome/brushed aluminum window trim with my gloss black vinyl material. In addition the window trim, I also lightly tinted/smoked the tail lights and blacked out the center lower portion of the front bumper in gloss black as well. Even though the car was still relatively stock, these small subtle changes still changed the look of the car quite a bit, without making it look overly modified. It***8217;s as if it could have come from the factory this way. I believe the owner of this car was from Riverside and drove out to me in Anaheim Hills/Orange County to have the work done.

The owner of this black BMW 3 series E92 coupe had me black out the chrome/brushed aluminum on his window trim in my matte black vinyl. We went with matte black over gloss black on his car to give it some contrast. Blacking out the chrome makes a big difference, especially on a black car that doesn't have any other chrome accents on it. If anything, the only other thing I would have blacked out as well would have been the amber reflectors in the front bumper. The owner of this car drove out from Los Angeles to me in Anaheim Hills/Orange County to have the vinyl wrap work done.
For those who are keep track, I may be making my last norcal trip for the year either the first or second week of September. I haven***8217;t finalized it, but once I do, I***8217;ll make an official thread for it. However, those who e-mail (donathon@gmail.com) me ahead of time will get priority registration for setting up appointment times with me.
The owner of this brand new white Mercedes Benz E250 sedan had me wrap his roof in my gloss black vinyl material and also black out the chrome/brushed aluminum window trim in the same finish to match. I would have also done the rear trunk bar chrome piece to match, but the owner of this car wanted to leave it I believe. The black roof and blacked out window trim sets it off from the other E classes on the road, but without making it look too modified. It***8217;s a very factory look, in my opinion.
It***8217;s always cool to see a fast wagon come in to get some work done. This dark grey Mercedes Benz E63 wagon came in to have me black out the chrome/brushed aluminum around his windows, rear trunk bar, and lower side skirt chrome pieces. We went with the matte black finish, which I think suits the color of this car. Generally I like matte finishes on darker grey colored cars like these. I think it goes well with them. I also took some close up pictures of the edges, as some people had requested.
This is one of the cars that I did some vinyl work on when I was up in norcal / Bay Area for vinyl wrapping. The owner of this car had me black out the chrome / aluminum window trim on his black E65 wagon. We went with the matte black over the gloss black for the window trim, to provide some contrast to the gloss black paint and allow the trim pieces to still accent the car.
I really believe that blacking out the chrome/brushed aluminum on bigger bodied cars, such as this black Mercedes Benz S550 makes a huge difference and changes the look of the car completely. For this S550, I blacked out the chrome around the windows, the lower chrome bars on the bottom of the doors and the rear back chrome trunk bar piece with my gloss black vinyl material. I believe the owner of this car was from either Los Angeles or San Diego and drove out to me in Orange county/Anaheim Hills to have the work done. We went with the gloss black finish to match the finish on his already gloss black powder coated wheels.
For some reason I get more black Audis than anything else. The owner of this black Audi B8 S4 sedan had me vinyl wrap the chrome/brushed aluminum window trim in my matte black finish vinyl material. With the matte black finish, for a black car, it gives the trim more of a contrast versus gloss black, which would just blend in with the finish/paint of the already black car. The owner of this car came out to me in Anaheim Hills/Orange County to have the vinyl work done.
For this black Lexus IS350 F sport, I blacked out the chrome/brushed aluminum window trim with my matte black vinyl material. It may be a bit hard to see the chrome in the before pictures, but blacking out the chrome trim completely changed the look of the car. It gave the IS a sportier look and made the window trim become more subtle by blending it into the car better. The owner of this car drove out to me in Anaheim Hills/Orange County to have the vinyl work done.
The owner of this new white Audi A6 had me black out the chrome/brushed aluminum window trim on the car in my gloss black vinyl material. I think the gloss black finish went fairly well with the car and changed the look of the car completely, even for such for it being a relatively simple and small piece. He drove out to me in Anaheim Hills/Orange County to have the vinyl work done.
For this silver Mercedes E63 AMG sedan, I blacked out the chrome/brushed aluminum window trim with my gloss black vinyl material to give it a factory OEM look. I think the gloss black went well with the silver color of the car. Something small and minor such as blacking out the chrome window trim can change the look of the car completely. The owner of this car came out to me in Anaheim Hills/Orange County to have the vinyl work done.
For this black Audi SQ5 SUV, I blacked out the chrome/brushed aluminum window trim, roof rail racks, side mirrors and the grey center sections in the front area of the grill. We went with the gloss black to have it blend in and match the already gloss black finish and color of the car. For the mirrors, I wrapped the gloss black material up until the line/indentation on the mirror caps themselves. The owner was local to me in Orange County, and we were able to figure something out where I came to his shop location and did the install there for him.
For this white BMW 335i E92 coupe, I vinyl wrapped over the original factory chrome/brushed aluminum window trim with my gloss black vinyl material to give it the OEM factory sport package window trim look. This is a good alternative to those who didn***8217;t get cars with the sport package or don***8217;t want to spend the high costs of replacing the trim pieces with OEM pieces. The benefit of this is that it is also reversible if you ever wanted to go back to the chrome finish. The owner of this car came out to me in Anaheim Hills/Orange county to get the vinyl work done.
I had the pleasure of meeting Don last week and had him wrap the chrome trim on my Q7 as well as Plastidip my grill surround, both in matte black. It is nice that he has experience with both products as they both have their benefits in different applications. Don felt that the bend on the grill surround in too deep to wrap without worrying about it peeling from engine heat. He recommended Plastidip and I love how it turned out.
I will go back to Don in the future and highly recommend him is you need any vinyl wrapping or Plastidiping...
