Yeah, you probably need to scrape off the old junk and put some new thermal paste on.

Did you also clean the intake on the case itself and blow the dust out of the power supply?

basically theres a paste that makes contact with the cpu and heatsink to better dissipate heat. when this paste gets old it doesnt transfer heat as well since its basically just metal on metal, so that very well may be ur problem.
cool man, thanks. Ima check that out right now.

I think you problem is too much steamy porn on your hd...simple solution is stop fapping 6 times a day and delete your porn cookies should be fine in a day or two :eeps:
lol

I haven't downloaded porn in 6 years.

Yea, i cleaned everything really well. There was soo much crap in there when i cleaned it, because i left the computer case open thinking it will be better to keep it cool, but it only attracted more dust.

WAIT MO!! if u take the heatsink off now dont put it back on with the same stuff. go get some paste and do it either way, its like 3 bucks and theres a bunch of online guides of how to do it.
Mo, just use Peanut Butter, Put a uncooked rice sized piece in the middle and spread it evenly across the bottom of the heat sink. Wash the old stuff off it first best you can.

lol Its actually a valid method, I know it seemed like a joke (And I wanted it too lol) but there are people on forums who have done it and its becoming popular. On xtremesystems.org there were some peeps who did it. Supposedly peanut butter has very good heat dissipating qualities.

Also the "Uncooked rice size" is the universally accepted sizing for how much thermal paste to put on heat sinks, lol That wasnt part of the joke.

Saw it on overclockers.com forums. Some inspired person tried it and blew his cpu.
