Hello. I want to know how hard is it to remove factory radio.
I got 2001 325ci. Without cd changer in trunk.
Just one cd indash.
I want to ad aftermarket cd changer.
Get a plastic trim "spoon" Starting at the right corner, wedge it underneatch until it starts to come free. But your fingers underneatch and GENTLY free it from the friction buttons behind it. Do the same for the center piece. There are 2 screws on either side of the radio. Remove and relax. BTW, why add an "ugly" aftermarket.
Troll the for sale section or ebay, and buy one that fits for a lot less. Also buy the AUX adapter (like $50) and install it in the glovebox so you can plug in your iPod, MP3 player, iPhone or whatever.
Gotta remove the passenger side wood trim where the passenger airbag is.. Then remove the center trim. Once the two trim pieces are removed look for some screws that are holding the radio in and thats it. Very easy job.
