Well I've been stockpiling this stuff so I thought I'd share. Content is something you have all probably come across but I'm serving it up in one location. It's not exactly everything you would want to know just a bunch of stuff I like to keep handy and a lot of stuff that people seem to ask about before searching.

Feel free to add, but keep down the clutter and the OT and ask questions elsewhere.....Then again, do what you want.

Inspection II Turner Kit DIY
http://www.turnermotorsport.com/html/subcategory_detail.asp?modelcode=E46&subcat_id=167

IMHO: what I'm planning to do is performing the maintenance in this kit and taking iit somewhere to get a coolant flush and a visual inspection.

E46 325/330i Inspection II Package
Part #: INSP2M54
Applications: 2001 - 2004 325/330i/Ci (E46)

Inspection II Package for E46 325/330i/Ci. Click for more info.

Includes: BMW Synthetic 5W30 engine oil (7 quarts), OEM oil filter, Ate Super Blue brake fluid, A/C microfilter, Bosch spark plugs, OEM air filter, Red Line transmission and differential oil (2 quarts of each), OEM fuel filter. Optional items for the Do-It-Yourselfer are the Peake Fault Code/Reset Tool and/or a Bentley Service Manual.

An Inspection II consists of replacing all of the above parts as well as giving your car a thorough look-over. Much of the work is simply checking various parts and systems on the car which usually leads to more work that should or needs to be done. The above list is what BMW recommends to be done during an Inspection II (or every 40,000 miles). A home mechanic will have limited ability to give a car a complete Inspection II service so we recommend bringing your car to an experience BMW mechanic and having them complete the inspection for you. Keeping up with the maintenance on your car is the smart thing to do. For one thing, it prevents costly repairs in the future. For another, your car performs better, making aftermarket upgrades more worthwhile. And a well-maintained car with complete service records can add substantially to a car's resale value. Make sure you also order the Peake Code/Reset Tool -- resetting those Inspection/Service lights on your dash is the best method of keeping track of service intervals. You can also read and reset engine error codes thereby saving yourself a trip to the dealer (and the charge for reading the codes).

Double din install - BMW E46

The last post in this thread is from a while ago. I'm new to forums in general, this is the first forum I've ever joined, so please feel free to lemme know if I do anything wrong. With that said:

http://forum.e46fanatics.com/showthread.php?t=359575

This is the thread I'm following.

I'm at the point where I remove the cover and cut it and I'm looking for help. Any advice, tips, etc.

*Edit* The last post is from yesterday, was looking at other threads.

*Of great help, would be a better guide as this one is saying refer to the above pic but the above pic is not quite displaying what I think it should be...So with that said, does anyone know of a place near IP28 that would perform this for me? I would rather a professional take on this job than myself screwing up my beautiful beemer and having whistling noises driving or heat leaking...God knows what I'll do to my car haha but if no one replies...I'm a pretty impatient individual and will have a crack at it myself.

@iloveyou, I am not sure it will help you properly but, you can find the entire color palette of BMW here: http://bmwccbc.org/resources/teile/BMW-current-colors.pdf

My suggestion is Stahl Blau / Steel Blue....372 colour code. If you find out the VIN (probably, if that's an ad, the seller can give it to you, you can easily identify it, using a BMW online VIN decoder)....
I think it looks more silver than blue...my car in my sig is steel blue, but I could be wrong seeing as the car is half shade half in the sun

#232 ·
Yes, it is quite difficult to spot the exact shade - for example, my car (as in Garage photo) is electric/Japan red but, in the photo, although taken on a sunny day, it looks much darker that it really is. I thought it is Steel Blue, based on the bluish tint of that metallic grey....However, now that Brickhaus mentioned it, it can also be a grey but, the shade and the environment makes it seem a little bluish...

HUGE oil problem! Need advice

Ok so I drive a 02 325i with roughly 137k on it. It goes through oil ridiculously. I cannot drive 500 miles without the oil light coming on. I've tried adding thicker oil to somewhat slow this down and that hasn't helped(Mobil super 10w-40)

It's an auto/tipronic trans. I drive in tip tropic all the time because I wish it was stick. :(

I'm gunna be realistic and say I don't f**k around and drive slow.

I've looked through some of the other posts on here and can't really find anything that's similar to my problem.

Help me out guys! It's driving me crazy adding oil once a week!!!

Wheel Fitment/Wheel offset
The best thing to do to find out if a certain size wheel fits would be to contact gary@tirerack who has helped me and is a wealth of shoe knowledge on this site. I don't know much about anything when it comes to fitment so I take everything I read about it on the net with utmost suspicion.

2001 BMW 325ci

i JUST BOUGHT A 325CI AND THERES A FEW MINOR PROBLEMS THAT I NEEDED TO GET DONE. WHICH WAS BUY AN O2 CENSOR AND TUNE UP. Recently i got an oil change for it and right after i got the service done i put supreme gas. Well the next day i put $30 of supreme gas at a different gas station and when i turned on the car, the check engine light came on. So i let it sit for a few minutes then tried driving off but the car stopped and turned off and keeps doing it. I got the car to drive home but still the same problem. It even sounds funny and wobbles a little when i start the car. Now it wont let me go past 20mph. It isnt overheating. I just decided to not use the car until i have it checked out. Does it sound like it was just bad gas? someone please help
