You have to go through the pairing procedure between the car and the phone. Basically you set the phone into pairing mode. Press the pairing button in your car. When the Phone prompts you for a security code put in the 4 - 5 digit number that is on the back of your ULF that uniquely identify's it. Then you are done. No need to reprogram your car's ECU. It's really just a handshaking between the ULF bluetooth module and the cell phones bluetooth protocol. All bluetooth devices work this way in order to secure and recognize each other.
Good luck.
yeah, i know the US models use the UHF cable already present in the car for the BT antenna. but, I figure since I already have the shark fin on, I might as well use it for what it's there for.... LOL... but I would run the coax cable myself to save on labor charges for installing it. on a side note... do you know of anyone who makes an antenna amplifier for the cellular signal? I guess it would be GSM???

as for the pairing, I could never get that far when I hooked it up. like I said, right when I hooked up the wiring harness from the ULF to the car, the ignition turned itself on WITHOUT the key being in the ignition. so, I'm gonna have to goto the dealer and ask about that.
