Hey everyone, I just wanted to start a progress thread to keep track of my cars progress.
It's going to be slow and not have very cool/expensive upgrades, so if you only like fast and/or expensive builds then just move on I'm going to do the best with the money that I have.
Car is a 1999 323i in Jet Black with a Tan interior.
Feel free to leave negative feedback but please keep it mature and helpful :hi:
I skipped through the roof rack thread but couldn't find anywhere that said what needed to be done to make the yakima fairing fit the oem rack. Does anyone know?
Tiny update, first I have been kinda tracking my gas mileage because I am bored.
I completely filled up my tank with $65 when it was empty. That full tank with $65 which was about 16 gallons got me 340 miles before it ran out. So I think I got around 21 miles per gallon on average? Is anyone else around that?
Next I got a roof rack from "50feetAGL"
It's the Thule 753 I guess.
Put it on
Used it the next day to take a kayak to a lake Worked great. Here's some pictures
That's all for now. I need to get a fairing and two bike attachments for the rack. If you have those for sale then please hit me up!

In regards to your gas mileage, unless you are driving it really hard that isn't exactly accurate, or up to par. I have a 99' 323i 5 speed with all my maintenance up to date. The occassional daily pulls here and there plus city driving and highway driving my car averages 29mpg city and about 33/34 highway. My tank got 540 miles out of a full tank on my road trip last week.
these arrived today, I think i'm going to get my last resonator removed when I go to the shop to get these welded on. I have a feeling it won't sound good without that resonator though. We'll see
I have one resonator and my muffler removed. People like to call the parts different names but i'm going to go with the idea that we have two resonators and one muffler.
Do you think it'll sound good with both resonators and muffler removed?
If it doesn't then i'm thinking maybe it'll sound really good to get a loud flowmaster to be the only thing on there?
I wish I had headers haha. Let me know if you ever do that so i'll know what it sounds like with headers. I want to try to get ebay headers in the future.
But here are the old videos I made of a muffler delete, and another of a muffler + 2nd resonator delete.
The second video with the 2nd resonator deleted sounds a lot better to me than just the muffler delete.
the E46F one? I've been thinking about taking all the stickers off. They are caked on there though......... not sure how I should get it off. I have goo gone but the problem is getting the letters off, not the gunk under them. :thumbdwn:
I had my OEM rear bumper, and the mtech2 diffuser had a perfectly fitted exhaust tip cut-out. The bumper would never be an issue. The diffuser can be trimmed, even though I doubt you would have to do it. If your are planning on getting it soon, then you're right. If not, then do it without the metch2.
The plan right now is too just try to get two more body parts (mtech ll rear and something else ), and wheels. After that I just want to fix up the interior slowly and try to save most of my money for a project car if we end up getting it. Checking it out tomorrow.
EDIT: But i'm sure my plans will change like they always do lol
My car has been vibrating realllllly bad. Could it just be the tires? I'm ordering some new rear tires tomorrow and hopefully that will take care of it.
Yes i'll get an allignment once I get the new tires.
Can I get 205/50/16 tires for the rear or do they need to be 55 like the front?
Do I have to get the same tread pattern as the front?
The thread pattern doesn't have to be the same, but I recommend you to get 55 too for the rear. Otherwise, it would be like having 16's wheel at front and 15's at rear.
Yea since that shift knob/beer tap took up all my money?
I have plenty of money to get tires.
