Anyone isolate their ABS system in a 323 or probably 328 (assume it's the same or similar)? Wondering how difficult it is to do in part because I have a GrpN E36 system I might consider using. I know it's only 3 channel but I'd imagine it's better than the stock 323 system.
So basically it's not just a matter of separating out the correct wiring/harness as in other models. I suppose it's wired into the DME and other engine controls? I plan to remove the ASC altogether.
The MK 20 (which is what you got) might work but usually the real problem is that you break the CAN communications between the ABS unit and the ECU.
Another option: Bosch makes a standalone ABS Motorsport unit that will work in your car. It's a nice unit and allows you to adjust that amount of ABS assist you are looking for depending on track conditions. For around $12K, it's a pretty good deal for what you get.
I have a pectel stand lane unit installed and tuned by apex speed tech and it has traction contrl this way. He said it is fairly easy and the whole unit wasvaround 4000. I have a custom turbo e46.323i
