MAF without Screen (add mid-range torque!)
I've got a MAF here that has had the fine mesh screen removed. If you're looking to experiment with this controversial modification, this is your chance! For more information on this modification and the hp/torque gains available, check out this thread: http://forum.e46fanatics.com/showthr...ight=Mass+FLow
If you're interested, send me a PM, and we'll work something out. Last edited by sfzBimmer2; 04-01-2004 at 01:56 PM. |

How much will you sell it for? Also, when you had it on your 330i, did you feel any power gain? any electrical problems? etc, etc.? If you don't want to post the asking price here, email me at aliusa@yahoo.com
Thanks! |

I made this modification as an experiment when my car was on the dyno to see if it produced the gains that others had experienced. It indeed produced dramatic results, up to 15lbs/ft of torque throughout the midrange. Since that's the part we drive in most, I could really feel the change everytime I went out. There were no electrical problems, just a brief period of driving after installation in which the ECU adapted to the new airflow.

I used it for the last 2 weeks. It's been alright, although when I first did the mod, it went into "limp mode" as it was still adapting. It's been fine since then.

I'm selling it because I want to keep that part of my car stock. Although the gains are there and I haven't had reliability problems, I don't want to run into any problems with warranty or the fact that my car is a lease. All of my other mods are easily reversible with the OEM parts they replaced, but this mod is less reversible.
