My Ride: 323Ci Sports Package
|
I just did a drive for cancer in a Z4 3.0
I gotta say this thing is pretyy god dam cool. It was an automatic and had shift-pedals on the steering wheel. it pulls really hard pass 4K rpm, really tight handling. Really enjoyed the drive. Although it had steering pedals for shifting, i just didntl like using them. It was in sport mode and there was still around 0.5-1 sec delay between the time you shift and the time it changes the gear which I really couldnt live with. Still it accelerated like hell and sounded awesome too, nice exhaust sound.
I just wish I knew which 3.0 it was, it felt pretty fast but I can only imagine how 3.0SI would feel if i was driving the regular 3.0 I checked BMWUSA and there are two 3.0 Z4s Auto Z4 3.0 0-60 6.6 secs Auto Z4 3.0si 0-60 5.7 secs

It's too bad - it's a seriously fun car to drive, more people should give it a chance. Especially 3-series owners - the performance of the Z4 is a lot of what most people are modding their cars toward - lower, more urgent, with better handling.

i love z4's, i'd especially love to have an ///M roadster, if i had another bigger daily driver as well. they handle like they're on rails. i don't know why its not selling- i think its far superior to the benz slk in every way, and i see quite many slk's around.

I didn't think that the automatic Z4's had padel shifters... I used to work at a Bimmer dealership 3 years ago and all of the original Z4's could be ordered as SMG and those were the only ones that had padel shifters. Those were really fun to drive and definitely shifted fast enough IMO.
