DIY M3 Steering Wheel Install

I haven't seen a good DIY for installing a M3 steering wheel so I thought I'd write one up as I installed mine. Hopefully it will help some of you out.

Enjoy! - Paul

Brilliant info.

Just one mod you need to make: "Ensure that the battery is disconnected before working on the battery" ?

Well done, many thanks.

Paul180,

Thanks for the DIY. This was my first work on the car and you did a great job detailing the step by step. Took me less than 30min to do.

one of my favorite mods to date.. and that says a decent big.

Regarding airbag codes, mine was thrown but i had to swap out the airbag and wheel... after resetting the airbag light, it hasn't come back on

I tried putting an offer of $350 on ebay last night and I guess the seller accepted it, so my new sterring wheel is on the way.

Awesome DIY, I couldn't help but notice the chrome portions of your sunglasses holder and ash tray doors are black, did you do that on purpose or did you just paint over them like I did lol. I accidentally sanded down the chrome when I was refinishing them.

I bought mine from Tischer BMW under their specials section and highly recommend them.

Geken: I believe my sunglass and ash tray doors still have the chrome over them, the camera angles are just a bit off.
