Any 2.8s with headers?
So I threw on some S52 headers on my dual vanos 2.8 a little while ago and I didn't get the results im lookin for.
Car is running rich to the point where it's throwing codes and the ecu can't cut back on any more fuel. I'm on a stock tune. Anyone else run into problems when putting in some headers on a 2.8?

I didn't had any problems. no codes, errors.

Sure your o2's are in the corrct banks? Or any good?

so hold on, S52 headers fit on M52TU with no issues, and gains?

Check your o2 wiring/connections, and if anything have your mech. clear the adaptations.
The OBDII S52 headers work fine on the M52tu/M54, but you need to use the downpipe midsection from the e36, unless you're having a custom exhaust built. You'll also have to extend the o2 wiring if using the e36 exhaust (which I'm assuming the OP did).

IMO it's not worth it seeing as you can get a set of eBay headers for ~$150. Before headers were available on eBay, these would've been a cheaper alternative to the brand name headers for our cars.

ah..... but without an aftermarket ECU, how can u run ebay headers with no CEL?

o2 sensors are brand new and wiring is fine. Exhaust is custom from S52 headers back. I've recoded the DME and adaptations ahve been reset. Been trying to figure this out for a little while.
What did you guys do about the cats? I installed a single 2.5" CARB legal Magnaflow cat.

here I am..
bought them on ebay a long ago... no cats,just the 2nd resonator and a remus muffler.... sounds great, revs better.. and i felt the gain since the 1st km... they said 20hp, for me are 15... ![]() and in 2 years of abuse the light engine light pop out only after a trip of 500km on the highway... |

hmm.. no engine light huh.?? for me too I'm thinking putting in the headers from ebay and deleting the cat and resonater ..
If there is no codes .. I' d be looking for these upgrades soon.. |

Replacing the headers will give you codes
