Atkins diet, yay or nay?
I tried the atkins diet awhile back and was able to lose a good amount of weight - reduce cholesterol levels. With recent discoveries and trends is the atkins diet still reliable?
Im wondering if the diet has become outdated |

Atkins died from severe head injury from falling down the stairs. I lost 100lbs on Atkins in 8 months. Dropped my cholesterol, my body fat %, and was as healthy as an ox. I ate like a overworked mule, and worked out at the same time. I lost weight like it was nothing, and gained muscle like it was going out of style. Atkins is much healthier than being overweight, and Atkins isn't permanent. It's a tool to help you get to where you need to be. Some need to read up on the actual diet before knocking it.

Atkins works by depriving your body of its energy source (carbs.) When that happens your body starts to eat itself and fat isn't the only source. It puts a very heavy strain on your body and isn't healthy. Anyone who praises the diet doesn't know what they're doing to their body and needs to read up before touting it as the end-all-be-all.

I used Atkins as a springboard to lose about 30lbs in just a few months. Then I switched a healthy, balanced diet that incorporated little or not enriched carbohydrates. I wouldn't recommend it as a long term diet plan, but it is definitely effective to get you jump started to feel good and get motivated.

actually, he slipped on ice and hit his head
On April 8, 2003, at age 72, Dr. Atkins slipped on the ice while walking to work, hitting his head and causing bleeding around his brain. He lost consciousness on the way to the hospital, where he spent two weeks in intensive care. His death certificate states that the cause of death was "blunt impact injury of head with epidural hematoma". |

my cousin used to be fat like a motherfker, she got on the diet and lost about 100-150 pounds. i'll post up pics if i can find them, but theres a day/night difference

carbs dont make you fat, if they did the chinese would be obese, all they eat is rice, its a crock of ****................they are cutting calories by cutting carbs

You'll be amazed how hungry you find yourself if you eat small 350-400 calorie meals every 3-4 hours.

I lost over 100 pounds on atkins...then switched to http://www.absdiet.com.
works great....atkins is fast, but not permanent. abs diet is a lifestyle/eating habit change.
