Well well, I was looking at pics of the E500 we have in DR and I do like the lower part of the bumper... here is a pic of that followed by what I might do.... second and third pics show the differences in the grill. I'm leaning towards chrome.

Now.....

stock (note, all decals are GONE from the front)

only bottom

now both the bottom and grill

Why dont you try using matte black vinyl tape to tape it off and see how you like it in person???? I think you should give it a whirl

A flat NON-gloss black will look good. I know the grills look overwhelming in the OPs pick but with the black lower bumper, it should work and flow well

So my next question: On the E500 we had some crazy rubber put on it. It is very durable and I think reversible. I'm gonna call my guy and find out what he did. That rubber is matt of course. Should I do that or have it painted like a gloss black?

Go to Home depot and try plasti-dip. Its the same stuff that coats the handles on pliers and the like, it has that rubbery texture your talking about.

maybe the vinyl or rubber paint(?) would work better than gloss paint, i dunno. it's matte, which would kinda contrast with the silver, and you can use it as a "clear bra" of sorts, once this one is all chipped and faded, put in a new one!

spray the bottom part of the bumper with bedliner... I used bedliner on my jeep's bumpers, it came out real nice.
