Speaker Help please - stuck out here in the UK
please can someone help....i have a 2001 325 convertible with HK system.
One of my rear speakers has blown and is buzzing continuously... I have had an E46 previously and spent weeks and weeks improving the ICE with new speakers all round and a sub in the ski pass. My time is very limted so I cant do all that again...so my question is...what is the simplest way to replace the rear speakers- and does anyone have ay recommendations...i'd love the BSW system - but with duty and shipping, its just too expensive... with the HK system - do i need new crossovers or do i have to tap into the amp feed...i'm really just looking for the easiest option that will deliver biggest bang for my (limited) buck. Whilst im at it, I may change the front speakers too - but again, im getting confused with the crossovers for the HK system. Any advice will be greatly appreciated!! thanks Alex |

The crossovers for the H/K system are in such a way that replacing the fronts with anything other than BSW is going to mean your into at least a new amp and speakers, minimum. Either that, or simply buy used, non-blown H/K speakers, which woudl be your cheapest option yet not really improve the sound other than fix the blown sound.
