How can I mount my GPS on the dash?

I just bought a 2003 325i and am trying to mount a GPS on my dashboard. I tried the dash mounting sticky disk that came with the GPS and even had them send me a new one because I thought that maybe the glue had dried out. But neither the new disk, nor velcro or double-sided tape will stick to that dash. Has anyone had this problem? The suction cup works fine on the windshield but it kind of obstructs the view. Help please. Oh, and yes, I did clean the dashboard before I tried to stick the suction cup disk.

One drop "Dawn" dish soap, & tooth brush-scrub.
Clean off.
Alcohol, & tooth brush-scrub
Clean off.
Should work.

i bought a vent mount holder. my disc thing looked out of place on my dash and seemed like it nearly destroyed my dash when i tried to remove it. I think the vent one looks cleaner and removes easier

I use a Pro-Fit mount for my GPS. The Pro-Fit attaches underneath the trim piece around the radio and sits to the right of the A/C controls. Search for Pro Fit and you'll likely find several photos.

Well, this might give some placement suggestions:

Or you can do what this guy did, if you got the skillz...

18" Black ASA AR1 Rims | Yokohama Advan S4 Tires | Bilstein Sport Shocks | Eibach Pro-Kit Springs | Brembo Slotted Rotors | 6000k Xenons | 6000k P. Chrom. Angel Eyes | Eagle Eye LED Tail Lights | K&N FIPK CAI | M-Tech II Front Bumper | 35% Tint | Clear Corners | Matte Black Grille

Not really "on" the dash, but here's what I came up with

2005 BMW ///M3 / Carbon Black / Black Leather / 6MT
OEM BMW Performance Short Shift Kit, Illuminated ZHP Knob, XM Direct, DICE iPod, Color Matched Reflectors, Hoen Fogs, Stealth Corners, V1 (3.872) Hardwire, Eibach Pro-Kit, RE 15mm-F/12mm-R Spacers, CDV delete, Clutch Stop, Summer OEM ZCP 19s: Vredestein Ultrac Sessantas (245/275), Winter OEM 18s: Dunlop SP Winter Sport M3s (225/255), Self-installed OEM Alarm & OEM Homelink UGDO.
