Would you buy 2009 X5 for: $36,810 (PICS)

Hey guys

I know this is not an X5 forum, but hope you guys can help me out...

I need a SUV because I have a 14 month baby and another one on the way. Other cars are starting off at $56,000.00

I saw a ad cars.com from a private party selling his x5. Here is what he had to say about selling his car:

It has Navi, I think the model is xdrive (can't tell from the pic)
He is able to negotiate (he is willing to go down since he needs the money ASAP).

Where can i start off from?

Thanks for your reply, I'm looking to sell the car for $36,810. It has a clear title and the overall condition is excellent there are no dings, scratches or any kind of damage on the body also the interior is like new no rips, tears or smells (I'm a non-smoker).

I had a buyer offering $38,500 and I've lost about 2 weeks waiting for him to pay just to find out in the end that his loan wasn't approved. I've lowered the price because I'm in desperate need of cash it's either the car or the house so if you don't need a loan you can have it.
I'm currently signed up for a protection program offered by Yahoo! Autos and I would like to close the deal through them. If you are not aware of this program you should know that it will allow you to test drive and inspect the car before paying me. You will have a 7-day inspection period to decide whether you want to keep the car or not before they release the funds to me.

you're trying to get 36k for a e46 325i? I'm sorry to "burst the bubble" but that's close to impossible to get...

That X5 isn't fully loaded in the pictures. It doesn't have the sport package or cold weather package. It does have the technology package, rear climate package (unless he tinted the rear windows), and I cannot tell whether it has the premium package or not. That price does seem fine, especially for a 1 year old vehicle, but I haven't been watching used E70 prices so far.

Actually, forget everything above... look for a Mercedes Diesel Sprinter or Import a decked out Ford transit from Europe.

Forget the X5. Get a Sienna or an Ody. If you need all-wheel drive I'd go for a 2010 Outback. I have a Sienna and the power doors with kids are just the ticket. The thing will fit more than my friends suburban. Not sexy, but very comfortable and very mod friendly. You still have the e46 to boot. Just my take... but an experienced one

^+1 Same here.

If you must get an X5, try to get a diesel or a 4.8; the 3.0 gasoline engine is just too underpowered for that car.

Sounds like a good deal to me. Just look at the X3 and X5 info though, do some research. The early models were quite problematic. And +1 for the Subie...my buddy just got an Outback....that thing is pretty fast!!! I was impressed. He got it for a great price also, much cheaper than what the X5 you are looking at is going for. But do what your gut tells you. You will be paying the bill every month....not the Fanatics.

if i sold my 330 for anything greater than 11k i'd b making quite a profit...

Sounds about right, but there seems to be something fishy about the transaction. I'd say make business right on the spot.

When did Yahoo start offering a funds transfer service or protection for it?

The bolded throws a giant red flag + . Anyone who tries to "close a deal through someone else" is USUALLY a scammer. Seeing as how he's 11 miles away why not go check it out? But if he hasn't had a deal in over two weeks, I really, really don't think this is legit. But again, meet him in person and check the car out, best place to start.
