ok so my 330 went crazy..
i was going at a normal speed and revved the engine to around 6k rpm to get quick power then suddenly i heard a clunk from my tranny.dashboard came up with battery and check engine lights.attention light showing next to my gear indicator on the dash board.after reading the manual found out it was on safe mode.which explains why i have no 1,2 and 5th gears.so i took it to a garage and was told the alternator was going bad.he tested out 18v above 2000 rpm.he wants around 500$ fopr the whole job.includes a brand new bosch alternator and labor.i thought these cars are meant to be driven hard well guess im wrong.what do you guys think i should do?i dont mind spending that amount if its worth it.

I guess with age they break easier even with normal maintenance.

Go to advance and grab a rebuilt alternator for half the price, and a lifetime warranty.

im curious on why it would be ur alternator if you said u heard a clunk from ur transmission..was the clunk from it going to "safe mode"...
and yes, get urself a rebuilt one, diy...depending on ur miles i would also check ur belt...just in case have fun. |

yes the clunk was when the transmission went to safe mode to prevent any damage.according to my mechanic.i think im gonna go with a rebuilt bosch alternator.i dont have the tools so i think im just gona let him do it.its only been a month with this car and kinda disappointed.still ove the car though..:d
