crazy spring break! hey xi owners-

So I have yet another broken rear coil spring...WTF BMW seriously. happened on my E36 as well. Easy fix - not worried about that - but I need a replacement.

I want to keep the ride height close to stock- concerned about lowering the front with the xi and therefore dont want to lower the rear. Plus I like the ride height for driving in snow etc (practical). So, questions...

1. Are there any non-oem options for stock springs? where could I order them from if so? Also any better deals than Tischer for OEM?

2. What is the difference between the sedan and wagon HR springs? I have a sedan

3. What have all you xi owners chosen? anyone try lower springs with the thicker spring pads?

With a non-xi I wouldnt think twice about lowering the whole car, but Im not sure I really want to do that now anyways.

I have h&r sport springs and got them from a member on here, but I think modbargains and other sponsors sell them. It gave me about a 1.5-2 inch drop and rides pretty good. It is a little bouncy on the interstate and harsh going over pot holes but I like them a lot and it gets rid of most of the ugly wheel gap XIs come with.

If your really concerned with ride comfort I honestly wouldn't get them though, I'd go with coilovers or get the stock springs from tischer.....actually I think I still have a whole set of XI springs in my garage with 40,000 miles on them.
