they reduce flex in the strut towers when cornering

A strut bar alone won't do much for handling, but when combined with a tighter sway bar it will yield moderate improvement. Although it is kinda pointless for regular cars to have them.

I'm really confused what a sway bar and a strut brace have to do together ??

The sway bar reduces increases roll stiffness, the strut brace keeps your strut tower from moving away from each other when cornering. Keeps things where they are supposed to be.

1. It will help avoid strut tower mushrooming.
2. Do you think the OEM strut bar in:
-The E46 M3, EVOs, aston martin, and whatnot really do nothing to increase the rigidity of the chassis ?

ECS tuning has a good deal on the BMW performance strut brace. It looks sexy on top of being functional.

my rsx-s came stock with one too

and yes i want it to prevent mushrooming (so sorry i didnt state all/more accurate reasons for wanting to buy an item from the forum, next time ill be a little more descriptive in my reasons so im not flamed) paired with my m3 sway it will stiffen up the front end a bit.

i didnt just want a strut bar to look cool under my hood
