New and Need Help

My car is fine a 325xit all the bouncy parts are working. I am just upgrading the iphone equipment. My old 92 535 gave up with broken shock tower with 625,000
The current problem is my Wife's 1996 328ic, the hood opening handle is broken off and the cable seems jammed.

umm get the broken stuff fixed? assuming the lever on the hood is broken and the one in driverside kick panel. If your goal is to get the hood open, have someone pull on on the hood release lever and at the same time pull open the hood.
