Fixing Codes on my car! Need your input!
So...I have 3 codes on my 01 325i 346:
18- Exhaust Cam Pos Sensor 239- Misfire cyl 2 48- torque converter clutch slip Trying to see what I should do first or what is causing these to malfunction. Researching the Torque Converter Clutch to see what that is exactly. Any input you guys may have would help me tons! My car is still drive-able but trying to get it fixed ASAP before it gets worse. I'm thinking to go ahead and put on a new cam sensor, but not where I should start. Last edited by BMWQUEEN01; 06-04-2011 at 04:12 PM. |

how many miles are on your car? Has trans been serviced? Usually a code 48 indicates a transmission going south but you never know. Is the car running rough? If only one cylinder misfire is indicated usually it's a bad ignition coil. As far as the cam sensor code goes, I'd replace intake and exhaust cam sensors (Use genuine BMW sensors) and the o-rings as well. I've tired the Febi sensors and believe me you're not doing yourself any favors b/c you'll be doing the job again in like a week. HTH
