Two years ago the window trim Edge Protection from the driver's side was coming off and had previously been glued together with contact glue but after a short while, especially in hot sun, comes apart again.
Decided to sew the two parts together using fishing wire (with stitches being about an inch apart) together with the existing contact glue. This should provide a permanent fix for the flaw in the BMW's design.
The only thing that you can see on the trim after sewing is little dots where the wire has looped into the trim fabric but un-noticable in most cases if the loop is only a few mm's in size.
Attached are some images that should give you a good idea on how to do it, sorry about the quality though, they were taken with my mobile.
