dwass325 gets back in shape

While I certainly haven't fallen off the wagon, I haven't been doing my best to be in shape and healthy. After getting a new job and moving (among other things), I'm just now getting in the groove of my new life and ready to push myself again physically. With that in mind, this thread is to keep me honest and I hope it's entertaining/educational along the way for anybody who cares to read.

I'm still 5'10.5 and I'm now 26 years old. My weight is around 200lbs. I'll check my measurements soon.

I'll be going on a cruise in early April so the idea is to see how I can do in the next seven weeks.

So...off to the gym for arms/abs and maybe some cardio. Will update the thread with pictures along the way.

All the regulars here should have one. Keep each other motivated and share splits, diets, and whatnot.

Man, life is crazy right now. Heading over to LASD, so I had to prepare for the pay cut. Things are just insane right now. Here is your Under Armour tighties pic.

Thanks! Diet is a big part of the problem right now. Since I no longer drive to work (I take the subway or walk when the weather is nice) carrying stuff is not as easy as it used to be. Sodium has become one of my macronutrients and I don't feel as healthy as I'd like to feel.

While I'll keep track of my weight, I don't have a goal. I just want to look and feel better. I would like to tighten up my midsection, get a little more of that X-shape, and get better separation between muscle groups. Above all, I want to do it while still feeling good.

If you're still working nights then go for it! I actually prefer to work out at 6am. At night, it's filled with inconsiderate clueless people. The people who are there at 6am are there to get things accomplished.

Are you not traveling anymore? Just curious, how much have you slacked?

I stepped into a gym for the first time late summer 2003 before my senior year of high school. With the exception of two surgeries I've had since then, I've not taken more than a week or ten days off since 2003.

I do still travel but it's a very different dynamic. I do a lot more client entertaining now. I'm doing mostly one-day trips now, about 2 days a month. For example, Monday I leave for Detroit at 6:30am and get back at 9pm. I am a lot more outward-facing than I was before, and spend a lot of time out around Chicago.

As for slacking, I've been lifting maybe 3-4 days a week. Diet has been garbage, but slowly getting better. I walk a lot more now, which has helped keep the midsection in check.

Prior to taking this job, I was planning to compete again. I was in the best shape of my life June 2011.
