Tarpaulin Cover
Hello all, I have searched but to no avail have I found any information on our website about the Tarpaulin Cover. The part number for this cover is 82110027059. For those of you who do not know what it is, it is a cover that you put just over the cabin of the car when the top is down. The purpose I believe is so you do not have to put the soft top up if you are going to leave the car. This seems very appealing to me, because every time you put the top up and down, it is one step closer to a costly repair. During the summer time I basically leave the top down because it is so beautiful outside, but at night when I am at work, dew will form and get in the inside of the car. I would prefer not to have to put the top back up and down. Basically what I am asking is does anyone have any experience with this cover, reviews, recommendations? Or is anyone selling theirs? I have posted a picture below to help aid with my description, I also have included the link to the cover on BMW's website.
Thanks http://www.shopbmwusa.com/ProductDet...&ProductId=525

I wouldnt trust this because if your top is having issue, you should fix it right away. not just leave it down all the time then one day it starts to rain you try to put it up realizing its been broken for a long time. if you use it all the time you will know when it starts to have issue.

I use my top and I put it up and down, it's just to keep forgein things out of the car when the tops down and it's outside. The top would go up and down every couple of days. You do make a good point though. And just to clarify, my top is in 100% functional condition.

how long does this thing take to install and then later stow away?
I'd rather push and hold a button for 30 seconds.

I would rather push the button as well, but every time you push that button is one last time you can push it before something breaks and I was just thinking if it is an instance when this cover could be substituted instead of putting the top up I would rather use the cover.

My father has this for his MGB which has a top that's a bit more maintenance than the BMW's. The one we have is not water resistant(not sure if they make one or not) and I would not recommend you use that for an extended period of time. I would buy a regular car cover as well if you were using this to be honest. The material isn't very tough.
