I work at McDonald's but I'm employed by a franchisee.

Do you guys get free food whenever?
Has anyone ever spit in the food because the customer was an ass to them?
Ever took a lot longer to do an order because that customer was being an ass to you?
Do you have to start mopping floors first before moving onto a different skill like fries or whatever?

Every Franchise company has different rules, I get a free meal when I do a night-shift, or if I get called in to replace someone, but some managers will just be nice and say I did a good job that day and give me 100% off instead of 50%.

Has anyone ever spit in the food because the customer was an ass to them?
I never witnessed someone in the kitchen altering a customers food, we make them the same no matter which customer it is, and the kitchen staff doesn't interact with customers anyways.

We hold up one order, we hold up everyone else's

Depending on the size of the restaurant, a new employee may be scheduled to only cleaning and then later on get trained in different area's of the store. In a smaller location, someone will be removed from the kitchen in order to do cleaning and then get back when they are done. If we have nothing to do we're not allowed to stand around so I either fill my levels in anticipation for the next rush, do maintenance or clean.

It comes in a dry mix with sugar pre-added and then they add hot water, cranberry raisins, diced apples, and cream.

yes its "fresh", comes out of packets just like the quaker packets in your pantry. but the apples and blueberries are fresh fresh like chilled in the fridge until ready to be served

Just to throw out there before people forget it, there are a lot of McD's that are franchise owned, so what might happen at one may not necessarily reflect the conditions/actions at other locations.

Nothing changes between franchisee's besides employee benefits and salary's.

No no, I didn't mean that. But I mean, if a customer goes into one store, and sees a mess, and ants, roaches, etc... doesn't mean that OTHER stores will be that way, just because one was.

I used to be a hater until I witnessed 1st hand restaurant operations and learned about the ingredients used. I hate when I go to another McDonald's and they're not following procedure just waiting for a provincial or corporate inspector to pass by and the food isn't fresh, I'm not shy to ask for the restaurant # to file a complaint.

You very specifically said "someone in the kitchen". Have you seen people that doesn't work in the kitchen do it. Aka, any employee?
