Nav monitor removal

Need some help removing my nav monitor to install an aux kit. I've searched and nothing I've found covers my car. 2005 330ci vert. Some say just pull the ring around the unit while the CD is open but that's not working. Some say take off the trim over the glove box and center. Anybody have a clue? Thanks

To remove the whole NAV unit out:

Remove the trim pieces. Remove the vents (just pull up/hard). You may not HAVE to do that IIRC, but it does allow you to reach in behind the NAV to slide it out once you do the steps below.

To remove the NAV, there are two clips on each side that hold the NAV in that you have to push in. Open the CD. Use something flat like a metal nail file... slide them into each side near the bottom, and it will release (push in) the clips for the NAV. You have to hold the files there. Slide the NAV out. There are guides online as to where the clips are. Hope that helps.

Thanks. Had to make sure because I saw so many posts and most of them weren't like my car.
