M3 e46 wont start

hello guys here is the thing when i was leaving to do some shores with my car when i was about to started it i heard a loud click in front of the engine, well since then i thought it might be the starter engine but it works very good, then i checked the fuses in the glovebox and the one in the engine bay but neither of this things that i checked seems to solves my problems, i dont know if the key is the problem because when the ignition is on the fuel pump works can you help me dealing with this problem

already did and nothing

Put your interior light on and turn the key again. If it dims, then its your battery - get a new one.

I already checked that the battery is brand new I bought it like a month ago and I also tested so the voltage is good, the fuel pump is also working, but when I put the key in the ignition position nothing happens the only thing I hear is the fuel pump working besides that nothing happens

my problem was a clutch sensor when there was no click or sign of the starter. Ive also one time one the m3 had a bad BST cable.

But narrow it down until you have the starter to replace.

ok guys here is the following things that i have done:
Fuel pump working
Battery is new
Fuses checked and working
starter motor working


the only two things left to test ews and the clutch switch

How did you verify the starter motor is good.

well I took out the starter motor and tested it with the battery

If its not the things you listed and the clutch switch was bypassed what else can it be? So strange. I never hear of the ews or immobilizer problems that meds these cars up.

and what if i have problems with my key how do i know if my keys are giving me the problem there is a way of testing it, the battery in the key only works for the remote or for the chip inside the key im running out of options here

is it a crank no start problem when you try to start do you here anything from the starter?

the starter doesn't even engage the only thing i can hear is the fuel pump working nothing else, i dont know if the key maybe the problem because i only have one key

did you check the fuses and relays behind the glove box

yeap all of that has been checked battery, bst, fuses, relays, fuel pump, fuses close to the ecu, starter motor

i heard a lot of the threads saying the ignition switch fails often

i dont think is the ignition switch because when i put the key in ignition i can hear the fuel pump working

have you tried checking signal/connections to the starter (voltage drop test)

Its the starter.

They fail in one specific position. If you remove it, it will work.

Mine did the same thing. It would start in the morning, I would drive it to temp then it wouldn't start again till it cooled off. I replaced the starter and has been perfect ever since. Get a new starter. And problem should be solved.
