New headlights.... amateur... Help...
ok guys rememeber im new to BMW's and Im also new to working on cars,
but the little I have done, I love, and im addicted to it now. So please forgive my ignorance here I'm just trying to learn... so I just bought a fancy set of these bastards from umnitza. http://www.flickr.com/photos/86850322@N02/7953473316/ big improvement from this http://www.flickr.com/photos/8685032...n/photostream/ Now my problem is, this http://www.flickr.com/photos/8685032...in/photostream http://www.flickr.com/photos/8685032...in/photostream so theres the two little red and black wires, with individual plugs which are wired to the bulb .... So do I need a conversion kit?? new ballasts? Or just a whole new set of everything?? |

Did you get new ballasts with the Umnitza headlights? If so tear that old ballast and bulb out from your old headlights.

Nope no ballasts, just headlights
so i guess the easiest solution here is to just get new ballasts? |

You should be able to reuse your existing HID kit for your new headlights unless it uses a completely different bulb size.

Here's my problem. There are 2 smaller plugs from my existing kit .
The new headlights have one large plug. |

Can you please take a picture of that solid plug that you are talking about on the new lights. My only guess is that they are non HID and they plug directly into the OEM bulb harness.
Or you can shoot the picture over to me in an Email at Gilbert@modbargains.com Thanks

Take out that plastic cover and take a pic of how the connector is to the low beam bulb.

Your highbeams are standard halogen what they're supposed to be.
Your lowbeams have an HID/Xenon kit with the xenon bulb which is NOT supposed to be there in a halogen headlight housing. Did you order ballasts with the P46 headlights from Umnitza?

From what it looks like you should just be able to plug your old ballast into the new lights as long as its the same connectors.
It seems like someone screwed with your wiring when they installed that HID kit. Your OEM plug for the low beams looks like its missing.

Take your old H7 xenon kit and plug them into the headlights.
if you cannot, then you may have ordered the FXR retrofit from us, in which case, you need a D2S adatper (you can still use your old ballast) and a pair of D2S bulbs that we sell as well.
