I need to get more photography gigs to justify this expenditure lol Both OMG pairing that with some nice glass will be killer. Maybe a 24-70mm Nikkor ((drooolll))

Really glad to see this come out. 10.5 DX MP is pretty useable for those people that can't/don't want to switch out lenses when they buy the body. 2100 is about where I expected it to come in at, a little bit higher but meh, still not a bad deal. Video could have been better (1080@60 fps) but atleast it does 720@60fps. It'll be interesting to see what the used prices are in a few months. ~1600/1700-ish? Now THATS pretty compelling and I might have to switch out my D7k so I can use some of my old 35mm lenses as they were meant to be.

I am super happy to see this released. It makes the rumored Canon 6D(maybe not with that name) that much more realistic. Canon 5D Sensor, 7D AF system and 7D body/controls. Looking to be ~5 FPS. This becomes the perfect 3rd body for motorsports. Retire the 5D. Get 7D AF system so cool ultra wide angle panning shots become easier.

And priced around 2K body only. I am sold.

The D600 looks stout though!

Neil I just posted on your flickr page how I can't wait to see what you shoot with your new baby. The only thing I see that looks odd on the D600 is that Nikon didn't give it a dedicated record button. SInce I don't shoot lots of vids, it wouldn't be a problem.

D600 would be a great second camera to a D700. Great for traveling light. But the dilemma is that the D700 used and D600 are roughly the same price.

I believe it has a dedicated record button, right next to the shutter release.

Going out to shoot with it later today. We shall see what magic happens

I took a quick glance when it came out. I thought it would look like the D7k on the back but... now looking at it, it's the same as the D800 on the back. That would get some getting use to. lol (NOT)

I shot with the D300/D700 once. That thing was nice. The only thing I didn't like was how much weight it was on my wrist. Especially when I shot with a zoom lens. I bet a lot of Nikon users will love the D600 feel especially if you have some wrist injury. Please post a review with loads of pics

can anyone who has it tell me how the DX mode is?

I considering getting one, in the not too distant future, and debating whether to sell my D90 or not.

I've already been using FX lenses for a bit now, and cant wait to see how my nikkor 24-70 performs on full frame, but I like to use my 10-24 dx lens a lot still, especially when shooting sky scrapers and such. I'm curious how the DX performance is. I'm I better of keeping the D90 for that reason? or is the DX performance a non-issue?

I thought about if I moved from D90 to D600, what lenses I could buy first without breaking the bank. There are some prime lenses I like shooting with on my D90 that would work well on the D600. 50mm of course. 30mm or 20mm, or at 105mm lens. I would think that they will handle just like they do on any of the FX cameras. Remember too that you can bump up the ISO so really you wouldn't have to go down to f/2.8. Maybe f/4 ?? will work.

Check out some of the images on flickr. Type in the search for the camera and the type of lens

This camera alone is making me think about jumping tooth dark side! And if people have seen my posts in the "official equipment" thread, they will know how difficult that would be for me!!! Ahhh. Really like this camera!!

http://www.costco.com/Nikon-D600-Ful...100012382.html

Love this bundle with the wireless transmitter. may pick up this bundle to start with if I sell a canon lens or two to really test it before I spend a lot of money on glass. Have too much canon glass to sell before I'd be sure.

Wish the 5dii had a similar transmitter for just 60 dollars. Not a 700 dollar grip/transmitter.

I'm hearing mixed reviews about the wireless transmitter. Some are saying the EyeFi card is better. And some are testing it with the App that you can download in iTunes

https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/wire...554157010?mt=8

The link you posted is what its going for. You can get the same price anywhere since Nikon is having a lens bundle sale. Well maybe not the wi-fi adapter lol. Crunching in the numbers, it basically includes the Nikon lens deal. D600 w/kit lens $2,596.95. Amazon you get a free Lowepro bag and a SD card.

http://www.amazon.com/Nikon-FX-Forma...ecc_rvi_cart_2

I think the better deal would be going with the D600 and Nikkor 24-70mm f/2.8 for $3784. This lens came with the D700 and a lot of users like that better. D600 looks very promising. I don't think it's better than 5Dii lmnop lol Canon still produces videos better.

so has anyone who picked it up yet, noticed the apparent major sensor dust issue? or is it over-exaggerated?

I don't have one yet but it seems like an isolated issue with oil on the sensor. But it looks like you can get it clean and it's fine. There is a thread on Flickr about the serial numbers possibly, a batch that has the oil on the sensor.

I think with most Cameras you will have dust on the sensor. That's a pn easy clean. The oil issue however Nikon iphasnt said anything about it. I wouldn't worry.
