New tire time
So Im looking at replace my tires for winter. Where is the best place to get them mounted/balanced? Im also going to ask to check for warped rims. Any ideas? For tires, I may go for the bridgestone potenzas. Thanks.

I wasn't aware Bridgestone made a winter version of the potenza.
Order from Tire Rack...have them mounted and balanced at a place of your choice.

Passenger vs performance tires? Im looking for a nice smooth ride without my car looking like its on donuts. Do those two tire types really make a difference?

If you're looking for dedicated winter tires, Blizzak is the Bridgestone line of snow tires. For performance oriented all season tires, the Potenza RE970 A/S would be the way to go.

Come to where I work and have me or one of 2 others I trust at the shop balance them on our hunter roadforce machine. You won't get better.
I work at a Ford dealer and the GM shop down the road has sent about 4 trucks/SUVs over because they know we have the equipment and competancy. I know you'll never come up here, so just find a shop with a good machine but more importantly people who know how to use it. |

Find someone around you who has a good machine. Tire Rack or Hunter themselves may be able to help you out. |

If you buy the tires from Tire Rack, there's a list on their website of preferred shops for mounting and balancing. You can compare prices between the shops, then choose. Oddly enough, the least expensive option for me was the BMW dealer.

What im worried about is my rims being warped. Im getting the rims checked beforehand to make sure I can put the new tires on. Last thing I want is them to be warped, the shop says theyre ok. I mount new tires on and then I have to take them off again because the rim is bad
