It's probably one of the two main engine sensors. But it could be coils, cats, or several other things. You need to get the codes read in order to have any idea of what really wrong with the car. At this point it's all pure guess work.

normally eml light is related to throttle position inplausibilty. But like turbo_f22_pilot said get codes read first. most easiest sensor to get to is the one you have to disconnect to change the oil filter.

Use a reader design specifically for BMW's. Not one that generates generic OBDII codes. If you are in the P.R., there is a fanatic with a GT1/DIS/INPA laptop that might be able to assist you. Ask in your regional section and see if they respond.

I just had this issue on my M, I replaced the front sensor since its cheaper than an hour of diagnostic labor, but no luck. That said I took it to the dealer and with the über computer they have they could test both and the actuator at the same time. The result, diagnosis bad actuator. Saved me from taking it all apart for the Tps under the manifold or guessing about the pedal. Diagnostic cost $120, certainly worth it if you trust your dealer since it could be any of four parts. Just my experience and $0.02.
