Auto tranny fill plug -- Hex or Torx?

Searched and search, could not find concrete info.

When referring to the GM tranny used in xi's.... Has it been confirmed that the 17mm hex bolt on the passenger rear of the tranny body is (or is an alternate to the T45) fill plug?

Fill plug is on side and above the pan bolts. Drain is on bottom of the pan. Don't know the sizes since I don't have an auto but you can probably figure it out pretty quick when you get under there.

Did a tranny fluid and filter change this weekend. Strangely enough, I only have the hex bolt on the passenger side. No Torx behind the driveshaft on the drivers side.

Hex it is.

Both the fill and drain plugs are 45 torx.. I did my AFT drain that refill today. The fill plug is along the drive line and hidden under a white sticker. Dont attempt to remove the 17 mm hex bolt on the other side of the pan - I partly rounded mine.

Thanks xi_ter for the info on the plugs. The white tamper sticker on the fill plug looked like a factory seal. How deceiving...LOL Did the trans service on Monday. The old fluid was black and the bottom of the pan was coated with sludge. 6-1/2 Qts of Redline D4 did the job. Shifts are much smoother now, it feels better than when I bought the car. In a few weeks I will drain the ATF and replace to finalize the job.
While I was there I also did the transfer case and F & R diffs. Now it's on to the front driver side axle, and power steering hoses.

you can use the hex bolt near the drain plug. the torx is too close to the driveshaft to fit anything on it.
the hex on the opposite corner is the same height as the torx so you can use that one too.

Not exactly-I took aT45 bit and ground it down. A 5/16" wrench fits perfectly for turning it.
I'm not saying the hex bolt is wrong, it does work.
