Forum Famous F/I Lime Green Vert For Sale on another forum.
Jesus...I guess no matter how much money was thrown at this car or the most popular vendors could get this guy to be happy with his car.
http://www.m3forum.net/m3forum/showthread.php?t=422332 The most crazy part of this is that the car is still at the shop. Last edited by bmxpert86; 10-02-2012 at 10:20 PM. |

But 65K is more than fair price. More than fair. I think he was happy enough. He has talked about selling it for almost a year now, so this is no shocker. It's hard to believe that some people actually LIKE that color. To each his own. I THINK its got the PT6766 in it. It did an 11.2. I am pretty sure with the right driver and tires this could be a 10 second car pretty easily...IF they ever get it running right.

Yeah Dave I thought the same thing about his salesmanship. Funny how he claimed how he was such a good businessman...I guess in some circles being a d!ck gets you up the latter but not in a car sale.
Yeah to each their own but the color is way too much for me. The price really is worth it but I would just strip the mods i like and f/i and sell the car with my motor swapped back in, or paint it a nice white, grey, or red. I guess priorities are first but I would want to at least get a few months fun out of it before it went up for sale. He put a lot of money into it, one of the biggest M builds to date. But a big chunk of the mods were the hpf kit wich most of the parts were thrown out so you can't put that into the price because that was a loss on his part. That being said I wish we got to see the end results n videos considering I followed the build for years. He practically swapped every interior part for new oem parts, so in stock form it's like a brand new car. If I had the cash I would strip it and put what I want into my car, sell off the extras, and repaint it to a shuttle color and give it to my girl. I wonder what's included? Do you get the almost complete HPF stage 3 and the whole saad/proefi system. Almost two complete high hp f/I kits for 65k would be killer, plus a well maintained vert. Not bad. You are spot on. I posted pretty much the same in his thread. I said that any buyer would need to know certain key things and everything else should be more than OK. Yeah, a buyer could do what you said, easliy. I would not doubt it is more than capable of 10 seconds in a good state of tune, tires, driver, etc.

I can understand his 'don't ask me' approach. I'm selling all kinds of take offs, and old car parts and new car parts/etc from my storage unit here to make room for other stuff. Its been collecting dust/etc.. I post the stuff on craigslist "Brand new OEM x5 Floor Mats $25, pick them up now" .. obviously brand new x5 floor mats that retail at like $150 for $25.. you'd think people would be there in 15 minutes.. nope.. you get 15 stupid tire kickers asking for pictures, asking for measurements, asking if they'll fit in an x3.. saying they'll be there, but never show up.. etc.. its anoying.. I price the stuff at $25 bucks because I want it gone not because I want to make a buck.. and I feel thats where Chad is with this car right now. He has other priorities.. and lets face it.. $65k for a car thats pretty much brand new.. and as he put it.. never been featured/exploited.. is a pretty good deal. Yes its forum famous but there's still a chance the new owner can wrap it up and it will be theres as opposed to say buying my car which for the rest of your life would be known as "Was that Marcus's car" .. etc.

I think Saad/ProEFI wanted to use his car to try new stuff since he was too busy to drive or enjoy the car at all these days. his M3 was the test mule once Jason sold his M3 which left SAAD with few E46 platforms to play with.

What it comes down to is that $65k is still an azzload of money for an e46 m3, no matter what has been done to it....(not to mention that this car is a vert and is basically not attractive). But the point being that when you are asking top dollar for something, you take the extra time to post a thorough fs ad. It isn't hard. Post up pictures and a detailed description and get ready for the tire kickers because no matter what, you are going to have tire kickers. There is just a tiny tiny market of people willing to shell out $65k for a flour green early 2000's bmw convertible (and honestly they most likely aren't shopping through the bfc classifieds) so work is going to have to be put in to make that sale happen. If that was my car, I would slap it on Dupont or put it on sw's car lot and let a professional sell it and take whatever I could get.

It's certainly worth more than 65k, but unfortunately I don't know who would pay that much for it unless it was some rich die hard forum stalker who has followed the build up of the car. He could probably get about 50% or more of what he put into it if he just parted it out, sounds like there's hardly any miles on the parts so might as well sell them for close to retail value.
