E46 Loose turnsignal
Hey Guys,
I decided yesterday to clean the inside of my headlights. Everything came out great but the driver side smoked turnsignal wont go in all the way. The clip is not broken and goes in perfectly. The passenger side is nice and snug. Ive tried pushing so hard and it just sticks out and i could even pull it out with my hand without much effort. Whats the issue i dont believe anything is broken. Thanks |

What screw? The one with the clip? As I was observing it looks as if the turn signal goes over the headlight a tiny bit. This really bothers me and I'm afraid of hitting a pothole and losing the turn signal.

Yeah I'm thinking yours is the same as facelifted models. The screw you see inside the hole of the fender. the one you unscrew to remove the corner light. Maybe open it up more so the corner light bracket goes in between it. if the screw is too tight, it might not line up correctly. of course this is hard to describe without seeing the car. try taking a wide shot showing more of the area. use flash

It's not the same as face lifted models. Pre face lift ones just sort of snap in. I had a similar problem awhile back that was resolved by a new corner

As Mango was saying, loosen the 8mm mounting screws, which will allow you to pull the whole headlight out just a bit, then attach corner lenses, and tighten the headlights with corners attached.
This is what i have to do, but i have LED turn signals, so i dont have to.get in there too often.

I am having the same problem man, it's because the clip on the back of these aftermarket lights aren't made very well and so they don't engage properly. I have pushed so hard and finally my drivers side went in... However I ended up breaking the passenger side one ... This is my third pair. I have had luck with sealant but idk if you want to go that route..

I tried mangos solution no good. And I know doesn't it suck... I will probably leave the turn signal the way it is opposed to buying a new pair. Thanks for solutions more will be appreciated
