Did your suspension upgrade make you say whoa?
I'm running stock suspension on my 58k 330Ci Sport and it feels really good but I was wondering between looks and handling improvement with anything from a cup kit, coilovers or struts and springs did you fall in love with your car again? Some cars are "nice" stock, but once a drop happens the handling is shockingly improved as is the look. How do you feel about this and the e46?

Somewhat related, when I bought my '05 E46M years ago, the '05 car's were equipped with the improved ZCP suspension. Changing this out to Bilstein PSS9's was a revelation. The car behaved so much more stable entering into turns, and the mid turn stability was much improved. Buying PSS9's was absolutely the right move for me. Next, I took it to a very good alignment shop; they corner weighted the car and completlely dialed in the car's alignment settings. The car turns in aggressively and what's more important, it always feels stable and confidence inspiring, meaning I can trust it in the corner.
Since then I have CSL bars and great tires in the Conti 5P in 285 (R) and 255 (F), which just adds incremental improvements that just makes the car more fun. |

Yes, I pared bilstein sports with hotchkis springs and swaybars and it went from a very nice handling car to a road magnet. I was recently home visiting my parents and I got to take my mom's porsche cayman s out for a spin and it was hard to tell the difference in terms of ride quality and suspension performance. Of course the porsche blows away my car away but these suspension upgrades at least made it A LOT closer.

100% star stuff

I had over 120k on original sport springs and dampers. Switching to H&R race and Bilstein sport dampers was an incredible upgrade. My ride inspires confidence on on ramps and through turns.

yes. i have H&R red sport springs and koni yellows
the "wow" factor has since worn off because it has been over 2 years but the initial wow factor was pretty intense. didn't really want to lower my car but wanted more performance in handling. i got it and am pretty happy with the results. even to this day my car still makes me smile. still wish it weighed 1000 pounds lighter though.
