330 transmissions

Does anyone know if there are dimensional differences between the 5spd and 6spd transmissions?

This could help us get an STX legal catted header built.

Thanks!

The only difference is in length, which can be determined by examining driveshaft lengths. IIRC, it's 106mm.

But are the external dimensions the same? That's the tricky part, routing the header past the transmission and motor mounts and such.

Those 10cm are added on through a plate that is the same dimension as the rear of the trans. The bell housing is the same dimension. You only need to account for the additional length. I'll pull up some pictures.
