![]() ![]() Yup. That's an '89 volvo wagon with a small block ford V8. Loud, fast, handles like a pig but soooo worth it. ps Selling my old 17" winter rims over in the proper forum.

I call her "the brown streak."
Not really. But I need to figure out a nickname.

It actually handles better than it has any reason to. Bilsteins all around, braces and beefy anti-roll bars do wonders. The steering is way less sloppy than American cars of the same era. The ford PS pump sorta fights with the volvo rack, but the wheelbase is shorter than you think and the weight is low and sort of balanced. When pushed, it's pretty neutral in the corners unless you give it some power, which leads to fun and donuts.

Correction, the center of gravity is low. The weight is decidedly *not* low. Probably weighs about the same as a 94 'stang, though.

Bought it from my neighbor for $2500. He never drove it. He put 2k miles on it in 8 years. I have 3500 miles now in 8 months. The original conversion was done in the mid 90s by a pilot. I googled the guy and found he had some involvement in drug trafficking flights from central america, which somehow makes the car even cooler in a modern-day bootlegger's overpowered swagger-wagon kind of way.

Oh, and this is a rarity for this type of conversion: The air conditioning works great.

It is nice to be able to carry eight rims with tires, inside with extra space. It's got a tow hitch, so I could use it to drag a track car around, too. Very long term plan.
Short term plan is to fix the last few things (throttle cable, two lug studs) to get it ready for autocross. No idea what class I'll end up in - probably end up being ranked against kit racers and heavily modified stuff.
