Eurosport carbon fiber air intake




What do you guys think about this?
I just emailed Eurosport for some dynos/videos/soundclips to get some more information
Looks alot like the gruppe M intake except theres an open box construction for the lower air ducts

Does anybody own this?

It sure does give under the hood just a little bit more flair. But I sure as hell am not spending almost $600 for some bling...
I want to see the numbers and the sounds

Before buying, check with the manufacturer to ensure there is a MAF screen incorporated into it, like the one in the stock M3 intake. The screen prevents turbulent or tumbling air from moving across the MAF and smoothes the air out. An intake without the MAF screen MAY experience problems such as the engine cutting out on deceleration. Google it; there's plenty of threads written about this matter.

@Luckydog- it does run on the OEM MAF

Also, there is a return policy, but it's a 15% restocking fee and obviously shipping is not refundable

Waste of money. I'd rather spend it on REAL power mods. The time an intake will really show good gains is when you're moving fast, like on a track. Even then, it's minimal for the price.

keep stock, get an aFe filter and call it a day. I was running about 315 WHP with the setup I had. Although, I felt faster because the car was REALLY light for a street car.

I'm not necessarily looking for just performance gains, I'm also interested in sound and cosmetic aspects of it too

Eurosport just got back to me, unfortunately there are no dynos or sound/video clips
I asked about a return policy, if there is, I'll be sure to run a couple of dynos and keep you guys posted

Hey Matt - All aftermarket intakes will use the MAF, unless it is tailored for a Alpha N speed density type in which case the system, doesn't use a heated filament (MAF) to determine air volume. There is a perforated/screen-like piece in front of the MAF that should be in the intake. It's all about the SCREEN! .

the center photo of the engine bay is a replica of the E46 M3 GruppeM cf intake. the other two photos appear to be the non-M gruppeM intake. take a closer look and you can see the design on the top right is nowhere the correct shape.

TMS sells a similar replica which is an encased cone filter in a round type of case that has an intake snorkel that replaces the factory intake snout

i have a genuine GruppeM intake on my M3. maybe a little more up on the top end, but not much. sound isn't much different either.

It's alot like the gruppe M intake but obviously instead of using a closed loop system they opened up the bottom of the intake to get air from the front bumper air duct
I'm interested to see if this system will work better for sound, economy and power because it's a sort of hybrid cold air and short ram intake
