2001 330ci, 120k miles, CEL, Peake Code 41 (Table 19)
2001 330ci, 120k miles
Hi newbie here - The CEL has been coming on and off randomly over the past few weeks. This week the car started to stall occasionally and often has low power (regardless of whether the CEL is or or not). Tonight I had difficulty starting the car and it also kept stalling in 1st and 2nd gears. I checked it through Peake and it listed the following codes on page 19: 41 - Intake camshaft poisition sensor In reading the forums, looks like the sensor needs to be replaced. Should I just get the OEM part from a local dealership and have a mechanic replace it, or could there be other issues that may be contributing to these problems (I read on some posts about fuel pump and O2 sensors?). Just don't want to get the camshaft position sensor replaced if the real problem could be elsewhere. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks in advance Last edited by gupta_amit; 11-29-2012 at 02:23 AM. Reason: Bump |

Hello,
Get a factory sensor and replace. The code should go away and the vehicle should run much better. Keep Motoring, Eurodriver Last edited by eurodriver; 11-28-2012 at 11:47 PM. |

Not sure I would worry about the O2 sensors, however, a fuel pump is something to consider if you want a reliable car.
Even once you sort your cam sensor, chances are you will still have many other issues to be checked and resolved. Suggest you read the first 3 links below in my signature.
