Thumbs down 58 yo Guy pushed into train NYC

Police are looking for a man who pushed a fellow rider into the path of an oncoming subway train following a dispute, killing him.
It happened at the 49th Street and Seventh Avenue station around 12:30 p.m.

The Metropolitan Transportation Authority says the victim was struck by a Q train as it was pulling into the station.

Service has been suspended on the Q, N and R trains, pending a police investigation.

Witnesses tell police the victim had been arguing with another man, just prior to being pushed.

The suspect, who fled the station, is described at being between 20 and 30 years old and 6-feet tall, with a white t-shirt, a black wool hat and short dreads. He was seen holding a black jacket.

Anyone with information on the case should contact the Crime Stoppers hotline at 1-800-577-TIPS, or text CRIMES and then enter TIP577, or visit www.nypdcrimestoppers.com.

In very poor taste journalistically and morally....NY post is going to take a hit on this....

FYI...journalist said he was trying to get the attention of the train conductor to alert him...now i am not a photographer...but that shiet looks pretty focused and set up....ummm try NOT and help the guy instead of taking his pic....what a jackass!

It looks like most likely the train killed the guy, not the push or the fall.

And how do you happen to have your camera out and ready for that photo?

foods great, i wouldnt call it dirty exactly. I've noticed people are more in a hurry than they are rude. for instance when 911 happened or sandy everything was slowed down and peoples lives were immediately changed for (most for a short period of time) thats when you got to see how nice people actually are. with that said i cant wait to gtfo!

edit... what color was this guy?

agreed, I think it has more to do with the fact that it is a giant city, so people don't really act all that neighborly and keep to themselves.

49 flashes ? Does that mean he had time to take 49 pictures ?
How long does it take to take 49 pictures and how long does it take to run 15 feet, grab a man's arm and say........hey buddy let me help you up......

The photographer who shot the New York Post's controversial front-page photo of a man about to be killed by an oncoming subway train defended his actions on Wednesday, saying there was "no way" he could have saved the victim.

-----------------
From the periphery of my eye I saw a body fly onto the tracks," Abbasi said. "There was a collective gasp, and that caught my total attention." The photographer said he fired off his flash 49 times. "If you look carefully into the eyes of the conductor you see two lights," Abbasi said. "I think those are my flash lights that are being reflected."

--------------------------

Abbasi, who was not paid by the "Today" show for the sitdown, said he has already licensed some of the photos he shot during the incident. He added: "If this thing happened again, with the same circumstances, whether I had a camera or not and I was running toward him there is no way I could've rescued Mr. Han."

Yeah, who stands there, focusing his camera, while a guy 20 feet from him has a train heading straight for him? Pretty messed up.. (assuming this wasn't a staged pic for the story)

Apparently was there for some subway photoshoot/artsy hipster thing. It's really disturbing that they made the actual photo the cover of the daily news.
