Need help finding a hotel in NYC!

Hey all, I'm taking my parents and my fiancée and her family to New York for New Years and I need help finding a hotel close to Times Square from December 29-January 2nd. 3-4 star trying to do between $200-$300/night. I've been looking but all I keep seeing are places in NJ or places that are $1,000+/night.

Any help would be great, thanks!

AMEX only offers that kind of service on certain cards. But this late in the game... doubtful.

This. I know Marriott sells out 2 years in advance. Anything near times square will be bucks, and anything IN times square will be impossible to book. $200-$300 per night? You are kidding yourself. I would be surprised if you can sleep on a subway grate for $300 a night in NYC over NYE. Try something as far downtown as possible near Wall Street, although I don't think it will be any better. Stay across the pond at the W in NJ, and take the train in, that way, you can show your people the REAL NYC experiece...of standing near times square, getting shoved around by 1 million people.

Well, I found a couple places for $450/night, but I'll probably just end up staying in NJ. I'm finding hotels that I can reserve, but the problem I'm having is when entering the number of guests... when I say there are going to be a child in the room (fiancee's little sister) it changes to no availability... but I can book it no problem if I don't add her. Would it be a problem if I didn't put the exact number of people staying in the room?

Unless you need something extra from the hotel, you don't need to put down the actual amount of guests. If however, you will need an extra bed, cott,etc, you might have an issue.

I was just in NYC for the Macy's parade. We stayed at hotel Mela, it was $254 a night really clean and the staff was great! But best of all it was on 44th an 6th.

I would, but it's going to be 3 families (13 people) total so it won't work out. Thanks though

Yea but youll have to sit in your car for 1.5 hours every day
