WTB & Ship 18" Wheels
I'd like to gets some OEM 18" wheels and there are more available in Melbourne and Sydney than in Perth where I am. Can anyone recommend a carrier or offer advice?
I've heard variations from sending them loose to strapping them onto a pallet shrink wrapped in plastic. What is the best way to do this and with whom? If anyone has some 18's they would like to part with please let me know. |

I have used e-go couriers in the past to get wheels from Melbourne. Paid about $90 including insurance. (the seller did a fantastic job at wrapping them and also dropped to the depot. I then picked them up at Perth depot)
Have also recently used Pack and Send to send wheels to Adelaide. It was $200. (set of 19" with tyres also).

e-go is the best generally for wheels, smartsend is okay too. no need to pallet pack them, too expensive. i have always sent them loose, just cover/protect the faces of the wheels with layers of thick cardboards if with tyres, otherwise box them up separately.

i have had wheels send from NSW/BNE to VIC for little as $50-60. as Raj has pointed out, its a little more to/from WA because of distance. but $120 should do it easily if your using e-go.

OK thank you for your answers. E-go seems to be the winner.
I have done 3 sets. Once with the wheels/tyres individually black shrink wrapped syd to per delivered in syd and I picked up from the truckers in per $100 and about 3 days. Another set on a half pallet mel to per - a bit of fuss about needing a fork lift at my end. I ended up cutting the plastic and tapes and unloading them by hand individually. $140 and about 7 days. Four mags wrapped and boxed syd - per $120 These got lost and took 2+ months to arrive. Each time was a lot of calls and co-ordinating, hence I asked here for direction. Now would anyone have some 18" wheels for sale? Last edited by Commando; 12-23-2012 at 09:09 AM. |
