dsc light flashes in a hard corner
When taking a hard corner at different speeds always under 15 MPH though, the DSC light will flash and I can feel the ABS pulse on the front left wheel. I'm pretty sure I need an alignment as the car also pulls slightly to the left while I'm going 40+. That'll be taken care of tomorrow but is there anything else that i should be looking for or any other reason as to why the DSC light will flash while turning?
DSC issue started today, but I do however live in NYC so the streets are horrible(maybe this plays a role as to what is happening) haven't hit a pothole though or anything else for that matter. Last edited by limpiabota809; 01-21-2013 at 12:04 PM. |

This is normal operation of the DSC system. Please refer to page 19 in your owners manual.

could be a number of things
how are the tires? could be going bald causing slip. Check front and rear tires is it colder now than before? Tires could be harder due to lower temps, hence less grip Could be alignment related, if your alignment is really off. tire pressure? A leaking/low pressure tire, will show lower speed than the rest and going around the corner this could meet/exceed the abs/dsc treshold activating the system. |

There are several things that can affect the DSC senstitivity. Start with your alignment and then report back. A proper alignment is crucial for the system to work correctly. Be sure the shop can re-calibrate the steering angle sensor as well. If they can't find a place that can.

Getting alignment done tomorrow will report then,
Will check tire pressure on my break they do seem lower than normal but not much maybe 35, definitely has gotten colder so I could see where that would play a role. |

It's normal. My car does the same on certain corners on my way to work.

What ever the reason is, it sounds like it's working the way it's designed to.

Mine did the same. I would go around a corner and dsc would kick in where it didn't during prior drives. found out my rear shocks needed replacement.

check your RCABs. When they get worn, they can contribute to dsc light coming on when covering.

I had the same thing happen after getting my rear tires replaced with new ones. I dealt with it for a week and couldn't get over the pulsing in the corners (more pronounced to the left). Didn't have any issues before that, so I went ahead and had the fronts replaced. Problem fixed. If the DSC sees too big of a difference between rotation front to rear is what I determined.

Ok, so I checked the tire pressure it was a tad low around 30 on the rears...I put some air to get them to 38 and I went for a drive and couldn't recreate the issue
