I have a question about the Business CD player, and installing a AUX input.

Okay, so I have a 2001 325i and I really need an auxiliary input. I researched it and it said that if i bought this part,
http://www.ecstuning.com/Search/82_1..._389/ES194845/
that it wouldn't fit on my Business CD player, so do i need to get a Business CD player from a 2002+ BMW for that part to fit on it?
I don't want to ruin my BMW radio with an aftermarket radio.

Also, if i do buy the newer head unit, this would be the correct DIY, right?

^^^^ this is how the solution fits in my head, does it make sense?

I'm looking into it some more, looks easier. And do you think i would need
to code the cars if i took a radio out of a 2005 325i and put
it into my 2001 325i?

Any replies? I'd like to do the same for our '99 and '00 cars. Grom seems to get mixed reviews.

I've unplugged my car battery several times and didn't have to reset the radio.

I'm working on doing the same to my car. I haven't done it yet due to the weather.

But From what I've read you have to have the dash player that has the Mode button.

here are the PDF instructions that come with the Aux kit when you purchase from the dealer. I got mine for $30 ish

I just simply googled how do you know if you can install Aux input in a BMW e46

Gotcha. Wouldn't your key have all the resets? I know when my car wouldn't turn over or when I unplugged the "-" negative charge on the battery. If you have the manual from the car you take it out of, it should have the code. Good question. I didn't think about the code.

Maybe this will help.
