get lenses restored or buy new ones?
I got a coupon for headlight restoration for 30 bucks.
But I also saw recently somewhere that I can indeed get a Bosch lens replacement?(part numbers?) I thought OEM quality lenses were only AL and ZKW for a facelift sedan. Anyone confirm that Bosch made lenses for these housings? I am completing my quad xenons so I want the lenses to last and not get foggy again, esp under high xenon heat. I promise I'll post pics when its all done Here is one for now. |

you have a coupon to restore your xenon lenses...? i doubt that.
wait are you talking about the plastic lenses? buy new ones. they're cheap enough and will last 10 years or so. a restoration might only last 6 months to a year

Lol. Damn. Yea? Any idea if the Bosch rumor is true?
Can Bosch all and zkw fit all housings? What is the best beast for the money? |

Get new lenses. This way it will be prestine and brand new. Older ones can crack and deteriorate quicker. And plus, it is only slightly more, if not equally priced. But if you get new ones, I reccomend you change the headlight gasket to prevwnt any water from entering.

Is that gasket a dealer item?
What is the verdict on the lenses to get? |

Buy new ones, I've restored mine once and after about a month they looked worse than before. I'm ordering a new set for mine this week. Khoalty.com has them and the customer service is fantastic!

A set of new lenses every 10 years is worth the price to me, compared to the $15 for a polishing kit that gives minimal improvements.
Sadly, your cheapest options for a facelift sedan that I know of are like $50 each. If you had a pre-facelift sedan you have Bosch lenses that you can get for like $19 each. Last edited by mkodama; 01-27-2013 at 02:44 AM. |

Wait, are you talking about the aspherical glass lenses for focusing light or the clear polycarbonate headlamp cover lenses for protecting the internals of the headlight and letting light out?

Well, here's some part numbers for ya. The deal with the lenses is that they are a maintenance item so a lot of vendors add an extra percentage to them, so definitely shop around.

So they were actually Bosch what you got? What was all the jargon on their website about "2002-2005 Sedan Headlight Lens is a private manufacturer, the quality is the same as Bosch as many of our customers have publicly stated, to keep pricing great for everyone we have to do this. The other fitment options are Bosch."
Also something in the comments about lose fitment. ThoughtsThoughts? |

Mine were. Yes. But I have a coupe. But there are others who have got them for sedans. Just search a bit and you'll find out!
